Moms need a timeout too

woman reading on car

Many of us use timeout as discipline for our kids. If they are pitching a fit, having a tantrum or are on emotional overload, we may send them to the corner or to their room to cool off or calm down.

Sounds like something many of us could use! I am sure 100% of you have felt at times that you needed to just hide in a corner or in your room. Maybe crawl up in the bed and pull the covers over your head and hope that no one finds you for a little while!

  • Love the photo! I just stopped by from SITS to say hello. I hope you find time to do the same. Now I’m off to read your guest post.

  • I think mommy time outs are SO crucial! I do lots of the things you mentioned, like baths, getting the grandparents to watch my son (and then using that time for fun stuff, not cleaning!). I also just returned from my first women’s retreat. A weekend away by myself. It was wonderful and relaxing, and I’ll definitely be scheduling another one in the future!

I know, wasn’t that an awesome cool picture?

  • So funny that we are/were on the same page! (My Atlanta Moms).

We need our alone time and we shouldn’t feel guilty about it!

Absolutely Krystyn! BTW, I love the way your name is spelled. We spelled 2 of our daughter’s names differently. You can never find any personalized item, can you? :-)

Thanks! Although, of course, my parents did it to me.

Nope, nothing every personalized. My parents once went to Miami and got Mickey pins for my sister and I. Hers had her name on it and I was so excited, I asked if mine had my name on it. She said “not unless you spell it M-I-A-M-I!”
